allēgātĭo ( adl- ), ōnis, f. [1. allēgo].
I.
Lit., a sending or despatching to any one (in the class. per. only twice in Cic.):

cum sibi omnes ad istum adlegationes difficiles viderent,

Cic. Verr. 2, 1, 51, § 136;

and in a pun: quibus adlegationibus illam sibi legationem expugnavit,

id. ib. 17.—
